KOCHI: Raising concerns, the water level at the Mullaperiyar dam again increased to 136.5 feet on Thursday. Though there is heavy outflow of water from the reservoir for the past couple of days, the water level has steadily increased. The water level which reached 136.4 feet in the morning decreased a bit and increased again. Meanwhile, the officials continued the mud clearing work in front of the spillways. “With the mud being cleared, the outflow of water has increased. Still the water level has been increasing on a steady basis,” the officials said. The indefinite fast by Peermade MLA E S Bijimol continued on Thursday. The Samara Samiti activists asked the government to take immediate measures to reahabilitate the people who will be affected in case of a disaster.
