New Delhi: Apple is likely to launch a stylus alongside the much-anticipated 12.9-inch "iPad Pro," said KGI Securities' Ming-chi Kuo - an industry analyst who has a good track record when it comes to Apple predictions. The new tablet and the rumoured stylus are expected to be introduced in the second quarter of this year, added Kuo.
Apple reportedly has filed a spate of stylus-related patents and is expected to finalise one of them for the upcoming iPad.
"Given that it's more precise than a person's fingers, a stylus can be more convenient to use than the combination of keyboard and mouse in some cases," wrote Kuo in a report obtained by Apple Insider. "Therefore, we believe Apple's stylus will improve the user experience of 12.9-inch iPad."
The rumoured stylus is likely to be launched as an optional accessory so as not to increase the base price of the iPad.
Kuo predicts that the Apple stylus will also allow developers to come up with innovative apps.
