CHENNAI/PONDICHERRY: Hours after the Madras High Court on Monday ordered the immediate arrest of a woman teacher and the principal of AKT Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kallakurichi, Villupuram district, for sexually abusing a four-year-old girl child, the class teacher Boshiya was arrested, while principal Lasi Bosco surrendered before authorities.“We direct the respondents, including the DGP, to immediately arrest all the accused involved in such a barbarian act within 24 hours and submit a report to this court,” the first bench comprising Chief Justice M Y Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagnanam said on Monday.Directing the Registry to put up the matter on Tuesday, the bench also directed the Kallakurichi police inspector and the Villupuram superintendent of police to appear in person before the court on September 27.The bench was passing an interim order on a writ petition from A Ramalingam, a human rights activist in Soundarvallipalayam, praying for a direction to the local police to permit him to stage a demonstration to condemn the incident and the police for not taking proper action on a complaint from the girl’s mother Kalaiselvi.According to the complaint dated August 3 this year, the child was sexually abused by class teacher Boshiya and principal Lasi Bosco during class hours. A case was registered for offences under sections 342,323, 506(I) and 377 of the IPC.Both Boshiya and Lasi had been arrested earlier but were out on conditional bail when the court ordered their arrest on Monday.
