YANAM: After the two days of violence and arson, normal life returned in this picturesque town on Sunday, though prohibitory orders are in force. Yanam police had imposed prohibitory orders suspecting that the workers might take out a rally with the body of union leader Murali Mohan who died allegedly due to police lathicharge on Friday. But his body was taken for cremation to Mohan's native place of Panduvari Peta in T Kothapalle village in I Polavaram mandal, 7kms from here. With the local staying indoors for the past three days, the roads had worn a deserted look. But on Sunday, people were seen buying groceries and other essential items and devotees offered their prayers at temples and churches. However, there were no visitors from Kakinada and surrounding areas who throng Yanam on weekends.“We lost good business on Friday and Saturday due to the violence.Visitors who come from East Godavari district and other parts the state are reluctant to come after the violence and death of two persons,” said M Srinivas, owner of Priyanka restaurant. The bars which generally do brisk business also had a dull day.
