Zardari calls Parliament joint session to tackle terrorism
The first session will be held on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called for a joint session of Parliament on terrorism. In a first of its kind session will be held on Wednesday.

Pakistan's Army Chief General Kayani along with the top brass of the ISI is expected to brief the Pakistan’s parliamentarians on efforts to combat the growing militancy in the country.

The decision came on Sunday following a meeting between Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani.

They have also approved a heightened security plan for the top political leadership in the wake of an unsuccessful attempt last week , by the Taliban, to kill Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan.

While the ANP leader escaped the suicide attack, the blast left at least four people dead just outside his ancestral home in Charsadda in the NWFP.
