'Ye hi Ek Batsman Hai': Rohit Sharma's Epic Words Before Taking DRS Against Heinrich Klaasen - WATCH
Rohit Sharma went on to take the review which worked in India's favour as Heinrich Klaasen was given out

The Indian bowlers ran riot with the ball once again as this time it was the South African batters who faced the wrath of it. The Proteas batters just failed to put up a fight with the bat in the 327-run chase in the World Cup match on Sunday at Eden Gardens. The in-form South Africa batting line-up was dismantled by Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami as they were seven down for just 67.

India also did well in opting for the DRS as it worked well for them on a couple of occasions.

It was the 13th over of the innings when Jadeja trapped in-form Heinrich Klaasen in front of the wicket but the on-field umpire gave him not out. Jadeja appealed loudly and then convinced skipper Rohit Sharma to take the review. Rohit went to wicketkeeper KL Rahul for a suggestion who was not very sure about the call.

Rohit, who is known for his one-liners, told Rahul, “Ye hi ek batsman hai” and went on to take the review which worked in India’s favour as Klaasen was given out after the ball-tracking shows that the ball was pitched in the line and hit the stumps.

Earlier, Virat Kohli’s 49th ton of his ODI career, an unbeaten 101, helped India post a mammoth total of 326/5 in 50 overs at the Eden Gardens, here on Sunday.

After skipper Rohit had elected to bat first and posted 62 runs for the opening wicket, Kohli notched up his 49th ODI century, equalling the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record and helped his side post a competitive total on a tricky-looking surface.

Rohit Sharma had led the charge with the bat as he gave his side a sensational start. He along with Shubman Gill played some fantastic shots upfront and made full use of the fielding restrictions. The South African bowlers were carted around as the Indian openers scored above 10 runs per over and brought up 50 runs of the partnership in no time.

Experienced Kagiso Rabada was brought into the attack and he struck in his very first over by dismissing the Indian skipper. who fell after scoring 40 off 24 balls as the 62-run opening stand came to an end in the sixth over.
