After Padmaavat, Now VHP Targets Salman Khan Films' Loveratri Over Title
"Loveratri" is directed by Abhiraj Minawala who will also be making his directorial debut with the film.

After staging massive protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat for allegedly hurting 'Rajput sentiments', now The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has reportedly taken offense against Salman Khan's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma's debut venture Loveratri for distorting the meaning of a Hindu festival.

The film, being produced by Salman Khan Films, landed in trouble after the right wing group said it wouldn't allow the screening of the upcoming romance drama as it might hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

"We will not allow its exhibition in cinema halls in the country. We don't want the sentiments of Hindus to be hurt," VHP's international working president Alok Kumar was quoted as saying by PTI.

"The film is set against the backdrop of Navratri, a Hindu festival, and the name distorts its meaning," Kumar added.

Set against the backdrop of Gujrat, the romantic drama unfolds the love story of the leading couple over the span of a nine night festival of Navratri. The film will present the fresh pairing of debutantes Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain.

The movie is being helmed by debutant director Abhiraj Minawala, who has served as assistant director on films such as Sultan and Shah Rukh Khan's Fan.
