Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in the theatres on the occasion of Eid along with highly anticipated Ajay Devgn’s biographical drama Maidaan. Expected to be a festival at the box office with the release of these movies, the performance of both movies was quite a disappointment for the moviegoers. As per the early estimates, Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has finally reached the Rs 50 crore club in terms of worldwide collection after eight days of its release, a figure which should have been touched in the first week. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan which started as a critic’s favourite fell miserably at the box office. The worldwide collection of the movie currently stands at Rs 28.25 crore at the box office after eight days.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan started with a good opening collection across the country on the first day, but after that, the film’s earnings remained limited to single digits. With comparatively high ticket prices and mainstream cinema, the movie was finally able to touch Rs 50 crore at the box office.

The movie did a business of Rs 15.65 crore on the opening day. It was followed by an earning of Rs 7.6 crore on the second day, Rs 8.5 crore on the third day, Rs 9.05 crore on the fourth day, Rs 2.5 crore on the fifth day, Rs 2.4 crore on the sixth day and Rs 2.55 crore on the seventh day.

On the eighth day, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan collected Rs 1.60 crore as per the report of Sacnilk. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an action movie which is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It stars Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chillar, and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which clashed with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, received excellent reviews, but the film has failed to garner audiences in theatres. ‘Maidan’ opened an account of Rs 7.1 crore at the box office on the first day. The film did a business of Rs 2.75 crore on the second day, Rs 5.75 crore on the third day, Rs 6.4 crore on the fourth day, Rs 1.5 crore on the fifth day, Rs 1.6 crore on the sixth day and Rs 2 crore on the seventh day.

As per Sacnilk, Maidaan collected only Rs 1.15 crore on its eighth day. The total collection of Ajay Devgan’s film till now across the country has been only Rs 28.25 crores. Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma and stars Ajay Devgn in the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, the coach of Indian football team in the 50s. The actor plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach of India between 1952 and 1962.
