Anticipation is high as Sanjay Leela Bhansali is gearing up to bring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal together on screen in his next film, Love And War. Fans have been eagerly awaiting any update on the film since it was announced earlier this year. Now, the makers have confirmed that the film will be released on March 20, 2026.
The film’s release date will coincide with major festivals like Ramzan, Ram Navami, and Gudi Padwa, reaping the benefits of the holiday season. Buzz around the film is high as it not only reunites Alia with her Gangubai Kathiawadi director but also marks Ranbir’s first film with Bhansali since Saawariya. This will also mark her second film with Ranbir after Brahmastra. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, who worked with Alia in Raazi and Ranbir in Sanju.
Previously in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Alia Bhatt expressed her excitement about the project. “There are so many layers to look forward to, that I don’t know which one to pick. First and foremost, the pleasure and honour of working with Sanjay sir, once again, under his guidance and gaze, flourish is step number one. You can go anywhere with it because of his attention to detail and his attention to you,” Alia said.
But as an audience member, Alia said she is eager to see her husband, Ranbir Kapoor in the film. “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate, again, after so many years. I am like, ‘Wow, what’s that going to be like?” Talking about reuniting with Vicky Kaushal, Alia added, “Vicky and I coming together again; Ranbir and Vicky created magic with Sanju. So, it is a lot of combinations.”
As per reports, the Love And War shoot will begin with Ranbir Kapoor in the first week of October, with Vicky Kaushal expected to join around October 10. “Sanjay Leela Bhansali begins his journey on Love And War by shooting for some sole sequences featuring Ranbir Kapoor and then moves on to the friendship portions of RK and Vicky. He has planned and designed the schedule keeping the dates of his star cast in mind,” a source told Pinkvilla previously.
The source further added, “Alia has allotted bulk dates to YRF for the female spy universe film, Alpha. She will start Love And War after calling it a wrap on Alpha by the end of November/early December.”
While we wait to see how Love And War pans out, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of Jigra. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is promoting Chhaava, which will be out later this year, and Ranbir Kapoor is filming Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
