Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year might have launched Alia Bhatt into Bollywood stardom, but it’s not a film she’s particularly proud of in terms of her performance. However, the actress revealed in a recent interaction that it’s the movie she wants her daughter, Raha, to watch first.
During an interview with IMDb, Alia was asked which of her films she’d want Raha to see when she grows up. Despite her personal feelings about her acting in the movie, Alia chose Student Of The Year. She believes the film’s entertaining songs and dance sequences would be perfect for Raha. “I want Raha to watch Student Of The Year because it’s the youngest and the most chill film a kid could watch,” Alia shared. “It was my first film, and though I’m not very proud of my performance in it, it’s full of songs, and I think she would really enjoy that.”
When asked about which of Ranbir Kapoor’s films she’d want Raha to see, Alia said, “I want her to watch Ranbir’s Barfi. I think it’s very child-friendly… yeah, Barfi is a good choice.”
The conversation also touched on Alia’s future aspirations, where she opened up about wanting more children and leading a peaceful life. “Hopefully, many more movies. Not just as an actor but also as a producer. More babies, lots of travel, and a healthy, happy, simple, peaceful life filled with nature,” she said.
Alia and Ranbir, who tied the knot in April 2022, welcomed their daughter Raha later that year. Professionally, Alia’s latest film Jigra is currently in theatres. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War lined up, which stars both Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
While Student Of The Year may not be a performance Alia feels particularly proud of, it’s clearly a special film to her for sentimental reasons.
