Aranmanai 4 Review: Sundar C’s Gripping Storyline Makes It A Must-watch

Director Sundar C’s latest film Aranmanai 4 released at the cinema halls on May 3, 2024. Starring actors like Raashi Khanna, Yogi Babu and Tamannaah Bhatia, this film has garnered positive reviews upon its release. Aranmanai 4 is described as a blend of horror and comedy. Avni Cinemax, Benzz Media and Lyca Productions have produced this film. The popular duo of Hiphop Tamizha (Adhi and R Jeeva) and composer Kharesma Ravichandran have scored the music of this film. E Krishna Samy has handled the cinematography of this movie. The narrative of this film begins with a lawyer Saravanan (Sundar C) getting the news of his sister Selvi (Tamannaah Bhatia)’s death. Selvi died by suicide after the death of her husband. Saravanan goes to her home to take care of her children. He then realises that the reason behind his sister’s death could not have been suicide. How he unravels the truth behind it with the help of a doctor Maaya (Raashi Khanna) and villagers form the premise of the film.

Direction

Direction is the USP of Aranmanai 4. Sundar C has inculcated a lot of interesting elements in this film compared to the earlier instalments. He has shown the characters and how they are investigated in an extremely compelling manner. In addition to this, the horror scenes he has curated and other twists also leave the viewers hooked to the screens. These elements have made the first half of Aranmanai 4 enjoyable. The filmmaker also ensured to break the monotony by including some humorous scenes in the second part of the narrative as well. The climax of the film in the last 30 minutes is one of the major highlights for viewers. Sundar C kept in mind not to include unnecessary comedy sequences in the movie’s premise and to include them only where required.

Acting

The actors ticked all the boxes right with their impressive performances in Aranmanai 4. Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh ensured with their comedy that there was never a single dull moment in the film. Sundar C, the director also played the lead role in this movie and received praise along with Tamannaah and Raashi.

Other Factors

There was not much scope for the music and cinematography part in this film. The VFX part, however, accounted for a bigger portion of Aranmanai 4 and managed to impress the viewers.
