Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh Announce Pregnancy: Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra REACT To The Big News

Deepika Padukone has finally announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Ranveer Singh. On Thursday, the actress took to her Instagram handle to share that she is pregnant and will deliver her first child in September this year. She shared an adorable poster with “September 2024” written on it. The poster also had children’s clothes, toys and balloons – in blue and pink – as the border.

No sooner had they dropped the news than industry friends, colleagues and well-wishers dropped congratulatory messages in the comments section. Vikrant Massey wrote, “OMGGGGGGG!!!! Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko!!!” Kriti Sanon also commented, “Omg!!!! Congratulations you two!!!” Among others, Sonam Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Anjali Anand, Neena Gupta, Bhumi Pednekar and Angad Bedi also sent wishes to Deepika and Ranveer. Sonakshi Sinha had the sweetest reaction. She wrote, “Your best production yet!!! So so happy for you both… congratulations.”

Priyanka Chopra, too, took to the comments to wish the couple. She wrote, “Mubarak” and also dropped a red heart. While Alia did’t write a comment, she dropped a bunch of red hearts.

Deepika has been married to Ranveer for over five years and their pregnancy rumours were making headlines for a long time now. Recently, a report by The Week claimed that Deepika is preparing for motherhood. A source cited by the publication claimed, “The actor is said to be in her second trimester.”

Interestingly, the announcement also comes weeks after Deepika said that she wants to have kids with Ranveer. The actress was speaking to Vogue Singapore recently when she said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone was recently seen in Fighter with Hrithik Roshan. She will now be seen with Prabhas in Kalki 2989 AD.
