Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have consistently captivated the audience with their on-screen chemistry for decades now. Their most recent collaboration was in the 2015 film Dilwale, which also starred Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Besides the on-screen magic, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s real-life camaraderie is equally adorable and we have solid proof.
Before the release of Dilwale in December 2015, SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment shared a video on their YouTube channel. The intriguing clip depicted behind the scenes from the making of the song Gerua, with director Rohit Shetty and choreographer Farah Khan also sharing some interesting anecdotes. Kajol recounted an incident during the filming of the song where she saved Shah Rukh Khan from falling off a waterfall.
Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude to the actress in the video. Kajol, however, tells him, “Yes, and you would not have survived the waterfall if I had not caught you right in time.” To which Shah Rukh said, “Thank you very much for saving my life”.
Known for her vibrant personality and fun-loving nature, the actress added, “You owe me now.” Responding to her, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I owe you my life. Meri zindagi ab tumhare naam ho chuki hai. (My life is now yours.)”
The song, Gerua is composed by Pritam whereas Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra crooned the soulful number for the Rohit Shetty film. The supporting cast of actors includes Pankaj Tripathi, Mukesh Tiwari, Varun Sharma, Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi and Johnny Lever.
The film Dilwale was written by Farhad Samji, Yunus Sajawal and Sajid.
Shah Rukh Khan’s next movie King directed by Sujoy Ghosh features Suhana Khan in the pivotal role, marking their first collaboration. This will be Suhana Khan’s big screen debut after appearing in The Archies on OTT.
