Director of films like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Phantom' Kabir Khan had to face angry, shoe-weilding protestors at the Karachi aiport in Pakistan on Wednesday.
Khan who was in the city to attend a marketting seminar, was surrounded by agitated protestors as he arrived at the airport to leave for Lahore. The protestors raised anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans and questioned the director on why he did not make films about activities of Indian Intelligence agencies in Pakistan.
Khan's last film 'Phantom' featuring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif was banned in Pakistan as it showed the country in bad light. Set five years after the horrific 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the film had Saif Ali Khan playing a retired army officer who along with a group of special officer enters Pakistan to seek and kill the masterminds of the attack including Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed.
The director is said to have spoken about him being a firm beleiver of a secular fabric in India, the Dawn reported. Khan is endorses India and Pakistan's friendship. According to Khan, 'Phantom' was misinterpreted and it was not anti-Pakistan but anti 'bad elements'.
The video footage shows, Khan being surrounded by angry protestors at the airport but later proceeding inside without reacting.
The director later took to Twitter to urge the media of the both the countries to not pay much heed to the protestors.
