Himesh Reshammiya Turns 51: Celebrating His Musical Journey And Personal Milestones

Himesh Reshammiya, one of the most prominent singers and composers in the entertainment industry, turns 51 today. He has scored music and sung for some of the blockbuster hits in the music industry including Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, Aap Ki Kashish, Aashiqui Mein Teri, etc. Besides being a phenomenal composer, Himesh also tried his luck at acting and made his debut with Aap Kaa Surroor: The Movie – The Real Luv Story in 2007. Reportedly, he exported around 6 autorickshaws to Germany for the shoot of this film. Besides this, the 51-year-old singer even short-listed 6 autorickshaw drivers from India to do an important pre-climax sequence in Aap Kaa Surroor in Germany. This became the first time that Indian autorickshaws were seen on German streets. This sequence cost the Aashiq Banaya Aapne composer around Rs 75 Lakh.

Personal Life

Himesh had also dominated the headlines due to his personal life, especially the divorce from his first wife Komal Reshammiya. The couple were married for 22 years till they were granted divorce by the family court in Bandra. They had filed for a divorce in December 2016. The reason behind the separation was not clear at that time. However, reports suggested that Himesh’s extra-marital affair with TV actress Sonia Kapoor was one of the reasons behind this. Reportedly, Himesh and Sonia began dating in 2006, and she was a frequent visitor to Himesh’s house.

Later, Himesh and Sonia tied the knot at his residence in Mumbai on May 11, 2018. Sonia is a television actress and has starred in shows such as Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai, Jugni Chali Jalandhar, Yes Boss and Remix. Himesh had earlier said that with the muhurat of the wedding at 1.30 am, he had not invited any of his friends from the fraternity. According to him, the wedding was a private affair with just the parents of the couple and Himesh’s son from his first marriage, Swayam, present on the occasion.

Himesh’s father Vipin Reshammiya is also a composer and taught him the nuances of music in childhood. Vipin Reshammiya has produced the films, Insaf Ki Jung, The Xpose and Teraa Surroor.
