'Is Matthew McConaughey Ok?': Actor's Latest Look Leaves Fans Worried

In over three decades of being in the public eye, fans have seen Matthew McConaughey transform over the years. Besides normal aging, the Academy Award winner has even transformed himself for certain roles, taking on different looks from project to project. Despite his fans growing accustomed to seeing his ever-changing looks, McConaughey’s latest appearance has got everyone alarmed. Earlier this month, the actor was spotted at the 3rd Annual Caring For Women Dinner in NYC, where his looks have left the internet concerned.

Fans largely took to social media and re-shared the videos and pictures of the 54-year-old actor, claiming that he looks “different” than usual. While some speculated his nose is in a different shape, others took notice of the changing eye color.

A fan shared a video of the actor with his wife, Camila Alves, at the red carpet and wrote, “Is Matthew McConaughey ok?” Many others joined in and wrote, “My guess is just getting older.”

Another added, “Looks like facial plastic surgery has gone wrong.”

A fan suggested, “He looks a bit thin, but he may be preparing for a role.”

Someone wrote, “He looks really thin and unhealthy.”

The post instantly raked in a series of comments, with many voicing concern for the star’s appearance, which seemed uncharacteristically stiff, gaunt and seemingly very somber. Amid the ongoing discussions about his look, a plastic surgeon has opened up on the same, suggesting that the features might just be due to a significant weight loss.

“Personally, I don’t believe that Matthew McConaughey has undergone rhinoplasty. I think the change in the size and shape of his nose could be attributed to weight loss, particularly in his face,” said Reza Nassab, a consultant plastic and reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon to the Daily Mail. He also explained that the actor’s cheeks and visible changes in nose shape could be due to losing fat from the area. “This natural shift in appearance due to weight loss can often lead people to assume cosmetic procedures have taken place, but in this case, the change in his face could easily be because of his weight loss,” he added.

If reports of weight loss are to be believed, this isn’t the first time that the actor has managed to shed kilos. Earlier, for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he had lost about 50 pounds. The effort did not go into vain, as he went on to bag an Oscar for Best Actor in 2014.
