Jwala Gutta QUESTIONS Samantha Amid Fight With Doctor: 'In Case of Fatality, Will You Take Responsibility?'
Jwala Gutta has also called out Samantha Ruth Prabhu for giving unsolicited medical advice to her followers.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently received backlash for recommending hydrogen peroxide nebulisation on her Instagram story. Dr Cyriac Abby Philips aka The Liver Doc called her out on X for supporting “unscientific” treatments as someone who is not a medical professional. Soon after, Samantha issued a statement on social media. Now, Jwala Gutta has also called out the actress and asked if she will take responsibility in case of a fatality.

Jwala wrote on X, “My only question to the celeb who’s prescribing medicine to the huge number of people who are following her… I understand the intention is to help… But… just in case… just in case the prescription doesn’t help and causes a fatality… will you be taking responsibility too? Will the doctor who you have tagged also take the responsibility?”

Earlier, Ricky Kej also sided with The Liver Doc. Ricky wrote in the comments section of Samantha’s post, “Get well soon! You have gone through a lot, and deserve to be well. About medical advice, it would be best not shared by non-medical professionals especially celebs with influence, More-so since you also endorse processed foods for pets, and sugary unhealthy foods. While we understand that this is done for the money, It is natural that there will be suspicion about everything that you praise.”

“And when you speak in favor of treatments that could be life-threatening, this is treading into very very dangerous territory.. especially treatments that have not gone through clinical trials and peer-reviewed systems, etc. So the Doctor who attacked you (I cannot see his comments) may have been rude, but he was not completely wrong. One cannot play with people’s lives with advice, which is half-baked. Especially people with huge influence. It is not the responsibility of the said Doctor to get in touch with yours. He will rightly respond to you, since you are the one advocating the treatment,” he added.

For the unversed, earlier this week, Samantha took to her Instagram stories when she recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Her post caught The Liver Doc’s attention who then called her “health and science illiterate” and mentioned that the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation “is dangerous for health”. The doctor even demanded that Samantha should be jailed and added, “In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team.”
