Mom-to-be Deepika Padukone reacted to Amitabh Bachchan’s intense look in Kalki 2898 AD. Nag Ashwin released the first glimpse of Amitabh’s role during an IPL match on Sunday evening. In the video, director Ashwin introduced Amitabh as the immortal Ashwatthama. He was wrapped in white bandages while a gem on his forehead shined bright. Fans showered the video with love.

Deepika, who is also a part of the Kalki 2898 AD star cast, gave the look a shout out. On Monday, Deepika took to her Instagram Stories and shared the video featuring Amitabh Bachchan’s immortal Ashwatthama look from the film. She shared the video with the hashtag, “#Kalki2898AD." It is safe to say that Deepika also liked the look.

Amitabh Bachchan shared the link of his first look from Kalki 2898 AD on X and wrote, “It’s been an experience for me like no other .. The mind to think such a product, the execution the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence."

What is Deepika Padukone’s Role in Kalki 2898 AD?

Although the makers are yet to shed more light on Deepika’s role in the film, it is rumoured that Deepika is playing Prabhas’ wife in the film. The actress is likely to play the role of Padma. As per the Vedas, Padma is the wife of Lord Kalki. However, Nag Ashwin has not addressed the speculations.

Kalki 2898 AD Plot:

At the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon, Nag Ashwin revealed that the film’s timeline will commence with Mahabharat. He stated, “The film starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD. It spans 6000 years in time. We tried to create worlds, imagining what they would be like while still keeping it Indian, and not make it look like Blade Runner. The film begins 6000 years behind 2898 AD is 3102 BC, which is when the last avatar of Krishna is believed to have passed."

Besides Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, Kalki 2898 AD stars Disha Patani and Rana Daggubati.
