Superstar Mohanlal and critically acclaimed filmmaker Sathyan Athikad are set to reunite for a film titled Hridayapoorvam. The confirmation of the film was made a few months ago. As per the latest update, it is believed that the film will go on floors soon. Sathyan Anthikad’s son Akhil recently shared an update about the upcoming project. He posted a snap of Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad on his Instagram story. He hyped the viewers for the upcoming film and wrote that a super fun Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad film is on the way.
The Malayalam film industry fans have been eagerly waiting for the reunion of Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad. In this film, Mohanlal is expected to play a common man, similar to his character in the superhit film Neru. Through his impeccable performance in Neru, Mohanlal has confirmed to the directors and producers that he can play any role effortlessly. It also impacted Sathyan Anthikad. He believes that the film Neru has proved that the audience loves to watch their favourite actor in the role of a common man.
“Neru’s success proves that people like to see Mohanlal acting normal. Similar to our other films, this one will be a familiar story but with a new treatment,” the director had said in an earlier interview.
Justin Prabhakar is composing the music for the film. Other details about the cast and crew are yet to be announced.
Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal collaboration has produced some superhit films like Gandhi Nagar 2nd Street (1986), Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam (1986), Varavelpu (1989), ‘Nadodikattu (1987) and Pattanapravesham (1988). Sathyan Anthikad’s last directorial was Makal in 2022. The family drama light-hearted film starred Jayaram, Naslen K, Gafoor, Meera Jasmine and Devika Sanjay
Anoop Sathyan, son of Sathyan Anthikkad, who earlier directed Varane Avahyamund, is said to be in talks with Mohanlal for a road movie. Reportedly, Naseeruddin Shah, Shobhana and Mukesh will also star in the film.
