Mosagullu: Mahima Makwana on Standing-out in a Star-studded Film
Actress Mahima Makwana is playing a pivotal role in Mosagullu. The film marks Mahima's second Telegu film after Venkatapuram.

Telegu film Mosagullu, featuring Vishnu Manchu, Kajal Aggarwal and Suniel Shetty, released in theatres today. Actress Mahima Makwana is also seen playing a pivotal role in the film. Mosagullu marks Mahima’s second Telegu film after Venkatapuram.

We asked Mahima how does she ensure to stand out in a star-studded project like this? She said, “I have never believed in competition or comparisons. I rather put in all my energy in trying to make the character shine its brightest. I just need to ensure that I am honest with my work, ethical on set and justify what I have been assigned. So, when all your body, brain, heart and soul are focusing on these aspects, there is no chance you get to think about ‘how to outshine other actors’. In today’s time content is king and hence working on a project of this sort is lucky for all kinds of actors, filmmakers, media professionals.”

Mahima plays Soha in the film. She said, “She’s confident, aware and smart. She’s also shown to be a part of the firm that runs the scam but what she does in the course of the film would be interesting for viewers to know. ”

The film has been made on a huge budget and released at the pan-India level. “There’s nothing like a pan-India release. I rather feel elated to finally say it out loud ‘welcome back to the cinemas people’. Secondly, language is never a barrier when it comes to storytelling. This is story of a heist based on true events, yet it’s fascinating and it’ll reach the audience via theatres,” said Mahima.

What else is in the pipeline? “There is a major announcement to happen, but I wouldn’t like to divulge into the details. Till then, I’d like the audience to enjoy my 2017 Telugu film Venkatapuram on Amazon Prime now.”

Mosagullu is based on a true story regarding the biggest IT scam. The film went on floors in February 2020 and the filming was wrapped up in January 2021 this year.
