Music director Gurukiran began his career as a music director with the Kannada film A, directed and starred by Upendra. His music in the subsequent film Upendra further solidified his position in the Kannada movie industry. His songs are still been playing on reality shows and radio stations. Recently, Gurukiran gave his vocals for a song after 25 years.
Gurukiran is composing the music for the film Roji. The film features four songs, all of which add narrative to the storyline. “I haven’t been accepting new projects recently. The film I agreed to work on after the pandemic is Roji. It’s been twenty-five years since I entered the film industry, and I’m delighted that my song Karimani Maalika is currently trending”, Gurukiran expressed his happiness at the film Roji event.
Loose Mada Yogi’s 50th film, Roji features Srinagara Kitty and Sandy Kumar as the lead actors. Additionally, actor Orata Prashant has been added to the cast, playing the role of Swami Anna. The film team has released a character introduction poster for Orata Prashant’s role.
“Roji is a stylish gangster drama, and Orata Prashanth is making a comeback to our film after a considerable gap. He portrays the character named Swami Anna. Additionally, there are two other significant roles in the film, which I will reveal soon,” stated the director.
Gurukiran hails from Mangalore and belongs to the Bunt family. His mother tongue is Tulu. Apart from composing music, he has also acted in supporting roles in several films and has lent his voice to various songs. Additionally, Gurukiran has also composed music for Tamil, Telugu and Tulu movies.
Gurukiran entered the film industry as an actor before transitioning to become a music director. He has sung numerous songs in Kannada films, both in his compositions and others. One of his notable songs is Kanasina Maratta, sung by him, which became a big hit in the film Banna Bannada Loka. The music for this song was directed by Thomas Rathnam.
