Neither Suriya Nor Aamir Khan But This Actor Was The First Choice For Ghajini
Mirattal was made as Ghajini in Tamil and Hindi with both Suriya and Aamir Khan.

AR Murugadoss is one of the most accomplished filmmakers of Tamil cinema and has a string of hit Tamil films as a filmmaker. He also holds the distinction of directing Suriya and Aamir Khan starrer blockbuster film Ghajini. However, do you know that before Suriya and Aamir, Murugadoss was about to do Ghajini with actor Ajith Kumar?

Murugadoss revealed this fact during the promotion of the film Darbar. The 49-year-old director had said that he had made his debut with Ajith starrer Dheena and was supposed to direct him again in Mirattal. According to the Darbar director, the project failed to proceed ahead due to the problems between Ajith and Mirattal’s producer. Later Mirattal was made as Ghajini in Tamil and Hindi with both Suriya and Aamir Khan. Murugadoss had conducted a photo shoot of Ajith and Asin for Mirattal which has surfaced on social media.

During Darbar’s promotions, Murugadoss said that Ajith had suggested reading the script of Mirattal. The Dheena actor had said that he would develop six packs for the movie. Only after Ajith’s suggestion, did Murugadoss feel that his hero character would look good with a six-pack. This explains the reason why Suriya and Aamir sported six packs in the Tamil and Hindi of Ghajini.

Apart from these films, Murugadoss has many other hit movies to his credit as a director. Some of the noteworthy mentions amongst these films include Ramana, 7aum Arivu, Thuppakki, etc. As of now, the director is anticipating the release of Sikandar headlined by Trisha Krishnan, Sonakshi Sinha, Salman Khan and others. Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, this film is expected to be released in the cinema halls in 2025.

In a recent interview with Times Of India, Murugadoss said, “In addition to high-octane action sequences, it will be packed with emotions and also carry a powerful social message. It will be a pan-India film. Audiences can expect to see a new kind of Salman Khan in this film.” Pinkvilla had reported that Sikandar will be shot in Portugal and other European countries apart from some portions in India on a huge budget of Rs 400 crore.
