Nostalgia! Konkona Sen Sharma Shares Throwback Pics From Mom Aparna Sen’s Film Sati
Konkona has been a part of several acclaimed Hindi films like Wake Up Sid, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Life in a Metro, Page 3, Luck by Chance and Omkara among others.

Konkona Sen Sharma has been a part of the entertainment industry for a long time now. With her exceptional talent, the actress has carved a niche of herself in Bollywood. But did you know that Konkona began her acting career from a very young age? Before making it to the Hindi cinema, she showcased her acting prowess in the Bengali film industry. She embarked on her acting journey as a child artist with the 1983 Bengali film Indira.

The Page 3 actress was also a part of her mother Aparna Sen’s 1989 directorial film Sati which starred Shabana Azmi in the lead role. Recently, filmmaker Aarti Kadav took to her Instagram stories and shared a collage of throwback pictures of Konkona from the sets of Sati. The post piqued the actress’ attention and she reacted to it.

The Life in a Metro actress re-shared the post on her stories and wrote, “Haha thanks for this pokhra jroy and arati kadav. It’s from senaparna9’s SATI ( on mubi india ) sharing a frame with the legendary azmi shabana.”

In the throwback pics, Konkona could be seen dressed in a pink saree with a nose ring, bangles and earrings, looking lovely as she performs her part in Sati. Her hair could be seen tied in a bun.

Talking about the film, Sati was based on a story by Kamal Kumar Majumdar. It centers around the life of a mute woman named Uma (played by Shabana Azmi) who marries a banyan tree because of her ‘kundli’ predicting her husband’s death. The Aparna Sen directorial received good responses from the critics as well as the audiences.

Apart from Konkona and Shabana Azmi, the film also starred Arun Banerjee and Kali Banerjee in pivotal roles.

On the professional front, Konkona has been a part of several acclaimed Hindi films like Wake Up Sid, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Life in a Metro, Page 3, Luck By Chance and Omkara among others.

She was last seen in the web series Killer Soup opposite actor Manoj Bajpayee. The series was released on the OTT platform Netflix in January this year.

Konkona will be next seen in director Anurag Bau’s upcoming anthology film Metro..In Dino which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
