Indian 2, headlined by Kamal Haasan and directed by S Shankar, was released at the cinema halls on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. One of the most talked about films, Indian 2 opened to negative word-of-mouth from the audience. Indian 2’s producer Red Giant Movies, handled by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, has suffered losses. Lyca Productions, another production house involved in the project, also faced losses due to Indian 2’s commercial failure. Initially, Dil Raju was also reportedly planning to produce this film but backed out later due to unknown reasons. According to a report published in the Track Tollywood, many expected Dil Raju to bag Indian 2’s rights and were surprised at his decision to back out. Reportedly, many felt that he couldn’t trust the subject of Indian 2 for which he walked out first and later didn’t even try for the film’s rights.
Post his exit from Indian 2, Dil Raju has again teamed up with S Shankar, for Ram Charan’s next, Game Changer. This film boasts a stellar star cast starring Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Jayaram and others. As per the reports, due to Shankar’s involvement with Indian 2, Game Changer was delayed for 3 years. Now Shankar, in one of his interviews, revealed that there is only a week of shooting left before the film is wrapped up. Ram Charan is done with his part and is on a break now.
According to an exclusive report in the OTT Play, producer Dil Raju will meet Shankar today to lock in the new release date of Game Changer. The makers are looking at either a Christmas 2024 release or a Sankranthi 2025 release. Makers are reportedly eyeing these dates as Shankar will require a lot of time to wrap the Indian 2’s post-production. Ram Charan plays an IAS officer in Game Changer. Dil Raju has reportedly produced this film on a massive budget of Rs 250 crore. This film will be a pan-India release.
