Taylor Swift Fans Think She's Taking A Dig At Kim Kardashian In This Song From Her Latest Album
The song's title itself is a clever nod, as the capitalised letters spell out KIM, suggesting a direct reference to the reality star.

Taylor Swift’s latest musical offering, The Tortured Poets Department, has stirred up lots of fresh waves of intrigue and speculations. While Swifties are busy interpreting the lyrics of her songs, one particular track appears to be a hidden jab at her long-standing feud with Kim Kardashian. Titled thanK you aIMee, this song is a centerpiece of Taylor’s 11th album, a surprise double release that has fans and critics dissecting its every lyric for hidden meanings and references. In thanK you aIMee, Taylor seems to aim at Kim Kardashian, depicting their tumultuous relationship. The song’s title itself is a clever nod, as the capitalised letters spell out KIM, suggesting a direct reference to the reality star.

Taylor’s lyrics also paint a vivid picture of her hometown, including a statue of Kim and a plaque that threatens her, symbolising the impact of Kim’s actions on Taylor’s life and career.

One of the song’s most striking verses sees Taylor singing, “When I picture my hometown / There’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you, / And a plaque underneath it / That threatens to push me down the stairs, at our school."

Taylor has also addressed the headlines and controversies that have surrounded their feud, particularly referencing the infamous 2016 phone call between Taylor and Kanye West, of which Kim had reportedly shared footage.

Taylor further sings, “And it wasn’t a fair fight, or a clean kill / Each time that Aimee stomped across my grave," allegedly highlighting the impact of Kim’s actions on her reputation and mental health.

In a candid interview with TIME, Taylor opened up about the toll that the feud took on her mental health, particularly citing the phone call as a turning point. She explained, “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before."

Despite the adversities she faced, Taylor also acknowledges the growth and strength she gained from the experience. She sings about building something positive despite the punches thrown at her, ultimately thanking Kim for inadvertently helping her heal and grow. “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’," she sings in the chorus and at the end, adds, “And our town, it looks so small, from way up here / Screamed ‘Thank you, Aimee’ to the night sky, and the stars are stunnin’ / ‘Cause I can’t forget the way you made me heal."

Swift fans are also surprised as well as amused with this track of hers. “I never thought taylor would release a diss track on Kim but I’m here for it," wrote a fan under her official audio. “We know who she talks about on this song, it’s like a healed version of look what you made me do," wrote another person.
