Indrani Mukerjea is set to share details about the Sheena Bora murder case in the upcoming Netflix documentary series titled “The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth.” Netflix India revealed the poster on Monday, announcing that the series would premiere on the OTT platform next month. In the poster, Indrani’s face is partially covered. She gained notoriety in 2015 for her alleged involvement in the 2012 murder of Sheena Bora.
Finally announcing the release date of the series about Indrani Mukerjea, accused in the Sheena Bora case, Netflix India wrote in its Instagram caption, “A sensational scandal that rocked the entire nation, with one family’s darkest secrets at the center of it all. The Indrani Mukerjea Story Buried Truth, coming on 23 February only on Netflix!”
The Netflix series follows the release of Indrani Mukerjea’s memoir, “Unbroken: The Untold Story,” which was published in 2023. In her book, the former media personality, now facing murder charges, reflects on her entire life, including the six years spent in prison. Currently out on bail, the documentary is expected to delve into the intricate details surrounding the ‘sensational’ murder of Sheena Bora and the subsequent arrest in 2015 of Indrani Mukerjea, Sheena’s alleged mother and former wife of media tycoon Peter Mukerjea.
As reported by news agency PTI, Netflix India stated that the docu-series includes insights from Indrani Mukerjea, her children, experienced journalists, and legal professionals, shedding light on dysfunctional family dynamics and intricate motivations.
In May 2022, the Supreme Court granted bail to former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in 2012 high-profile murder case of Sheena Bora. The murder case made headlines on several occasions after Sheena Bora, an executive working for Mumbai Metro One based in Mumbai, went missing on April 24, 2012. In August 2015, Mumbai Police arrested mother Indrani, former media executive Peter Mukerjea, Indrani’s ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyamvar Rai for allegedly abducting and killing her and subsequently burning Sheena’s corpse.
