As the clock ticks for the release of Cup starring actor Mathew Thomas in the lead role, the makers have finally released the official trailer of the film.
Tovino Thomas, who is basking in the success of his film ARM, unveiled the trailer via his social media page. The clip hints at a gripping sports drama where Mathew’s character is an aspiring badminton player. Actors Basil Joseph, Guru Somasundaram, Anikha Surendran and Namitha Pramod make a brief appearance in the film.
Tovino unveiled the trailer through his social media handle and wished the team with a message ahead of the release, saying.
Cup, starring Mathew Thomas and Basil Joseph in the lead roles, is directed by debutant Sanju V Samuel. The screenplay is jointly written by Akhilesh Latharaj and Denson Durom. Actors Guru Somasundaram, Anikha Surendran, Namitha Pramod, Karthik Vishnu, Riya Shibu, Nandini Gopalakrishnan, Mrinalini Susan George and Anand Roshan play some important roles in the film.
Technically, the film has been directed by Nikhil S Praveen and Reckson Joseph is the editor. The music has been composed by Shaan Rahman. Cup is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 27.
A few months ago, Mathew Thomas faced a tough time as his family was in a serious accident early on May 15. Their jeep overturned on an under-construction highway in Sasthamugal, Kochi, Kerala, while returning from a family event.
Sadly, his 61-year-old relative, Beena Daniel, passed away in the crash. Mathew’s father, Biju, mother, Susan and Beena’s husband, Saju, were injured and are in the hospital, along with Mathew’s brother John, who was driving the jeep.
Beena was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she passed away there. The family, including the actor, was returning from a family event when their vehicle overturned on the under-construction national highway.
