The highly anticipated film Thangalaan has now completed censorship formalities as it is gearing up for release in a few weeks. Tamil film starring Vikram has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. Thus, it can be watched by all age categories.
The upcoming film will be released in theatres on August 15 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam languages. The speculated runtime of the Thangalaan is said to be about two hours and 43 minutes. The historical action drama will star Chiyaan Vikram in the main role.
The film will feature Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, and Daniel Caltrogine in important roles. Directed by B. Ranjith, the producers of the film are Pa. Ranjith, K. E. Gnanavel Raja, Jyoti Deshpande, and G. Dhananjayan. G. V. Prakash Kumar composed the music for this film. The film is based on true events that revolve around the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka.
The release of the trailer for the film raised expectations among the audience. Thangalaan is said to have been made with tribals as its focus. The film was expected to be released in April, but its release was delayed due to post-production work. Backed by Studio Green, Jio Cinemas, and Neelam Productions, Thangalaan is one of the most expected films this year.
The cinematography is done by Kishor Kumar, while the edits are handled by Selva RK. It was shot in different locations, including Madurai, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical rights to the film.
Earlier, the makers of the film released the first single, named Minikki Minikki. Penned by Umadevi, the song is sung by Sinduri Vishal. It was released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The makers also released the trailer for the film on July 10 on YouTube. The upcoming film is raising expectations among the fans.
