There is no introduction needed for the name SS Rajamouli. He is an Indian filmmaker, primarily working in Telugu cinema. He is known for his films in the epic, action and fantasy genres. He is the highest-grossing Indian director of all time and the highest-paid director in Indian cinema. But do you know that once he asked for money from a veteran director?
SS Rajamouli once shared that K Raghavendra Rao means a lot to him and it would be an understatement if he said he learnt directing from him. He claimed that the relationship they share is not just professional.
Rajamouli shared that on his birthday, he would first touch his parents’ feet, then his cousin MM Keeravani’s and then he would go to K Raghavendra Rao and touch his feet when he used to direct serials.
During the early days, SS Rajamouli got the favour from K Raghavendra Rao when he worked as his assistant on just Rs 2,000 per episode. “I needed Rs 1 lakh to send my mother to the US for medical issues. I was getting a salary of Rs 2,000 per TV episode from K Raghavendra Rao garu. I went to him and asked him for 1 lakh. He asked me to take the money from the accounts department without asking what I needed the money for,” he revealed.
SS Rajamouli is currently working on SSMB 29 with Mahesh Babu. Recently, the director made his way to the theatres to watch the first-day show of Jr NTR’s new film, Devara. The filmmaker watched the film with his family and extended his support to the RRR star. However, to his surprise, when fans noticed him, they did not ask him about Devara. Instead, they urged him to give them an update on his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, currently dubbed as SSMB29.
