Why Kichcha Sudeep Declineed Tumkur University's Honorary Degree
Tumkur University, Karnataka, presented actor Sudeep with an honorary degree for his contributions to cinema and philanthropic ventures.

Kichcha Sudeep is considered one of the most illustrious names in South Indian cinema, who has worked in the industry for over two decades now. For his impactful achievements, Tumkur University bestowed the actor with an Honorary Degree, but the actor chose to turn down the honour.

As per reports, Tumkur University, Karnataka, presented actor Sudeep with an honorary degree for his contributions to cinema and philanthropic ventures. The actor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the institution’s honour but declined to accept it, stating that the honour should be conferred to someone who is older and deserves it more than him.

The honorary degrees will be presented on August 17, reports state. This year, the Tumkur University is conferring the honorary degrees to three people. The three names include CS Nagananda Swamy, a water sports adventurer and social activist, industrialist HG Chandrashekar and Valmiki Prasannaananda Swamiji from the Valmiki Guru Peetha. The institution has invited Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot to award the doctorates.

Kichcha Sudeep is prepping for his upcoming project, titled Max. The film is being made under the direction of Vijay Karthikeyaa, and stars Sudeep, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Samyukta Hornad, Sukrutha Wagle and Anirudh Bhat. It is being produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under the banners of V Creations and Kichcha Creatiions. For music, the makers have roped in B Ajaneesh Loknath. The cinematography is being done by Shekhar Chandra and the editor is SR Ganesh Baabu.

The actor last appeared in Vikrant Rona, which was written and directed by Anup Bhandari. Sudeep was featured in the titular role with names like Milana Nagaraj, Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok and Jacqueline Fernandez. It was produced by Shalini Manjunath, Jack Manjunath and Alankar Pandian under the banners of Kichcha Creations, Shalini Arts and Invenio Origin. The music was given by B Ajaneesh Loknath, the editor was Ashik Kusugolli and William David did the cinematography.
