Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan got married to her long-time boyfriend Nupur Shikhare in an intimate ceremony on Wednesday night in Mumbai. It was Nupur’s wedding attire and baraat that caught everyone’s attention at the ceremony. The groom was seen jogging to the venue and wearing a pair of shorts and a black vest on stage as the couple signed their marriage certificate. The outfit had everyone talking on social media. Ira has now seemingly shut the trolls by sharing a cute message.
She took to Instagram stories recently and shared a cute photo of herself with Nupur from the ceremony. She also attached a photo of Nupur jogging to the venue with his friends. She wrote, “He didn’t come on a horse. He ran to the venue. And I placed cute posters along the way.”
Earlier, in a video that surfaced on Instagram, Ira addressed the guests gathered at her wedding ceremony and spoke about Nupur’s attire. Ira asked the guests permission to excuse Nupur for a bit for he had to take a shower and dress up for the ceremony. After the shower, Nupur dressed in a sherwani and was seen posing with Ira and the Khan family. They posed for the media gathered outside the wedding venue.

For the unversed, Nupur ditched the baraat and opted to jog from his house to the wedding venue. It was an 8-kilometer jog. Nupur then joined his family to dance in the baraat.
The couple got engaged in September last year in Italy. Two months later, they hosted an intimate engagement party that was attended by family and close friends, including Imran Khan, Aamir’s ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao and actor Fatima Sana Shaikh.
A source told News18 that Aamir and the family have planned two star-studded ceremonies, one in Udaipur and another in Delhi. It is reported that some of the biggest stars are likely to attend the ceremony.
