Krushna Abhishek often talks about his ‘mama’ Govinda. Recently, the actor-comedian appeared on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast when he recalled his Comedy Circus days and admitted how he got respect because he is the nephew of Bollywood superstar Govinda.
“I signed Comedy Circus only for money. I was very happy with it. They were giving me ₹1.5 lakh per episode. They gave me a lot of respect because I was Govinda’s nephew. I was so in awe of the fact that I would be making ₹3 lakh per day,” Krushna said.
Krushna Abhishek’s comment comes at a time when he is also taking a big step to end his fight with Govinda. The two have not been on talking terms for almost eight years now. However, recently, Krushna confirmed his sister Arti Singh’s wedding and revealed that the first invitation will be sent out to Govinda.
“Arre sabse pehla invite unko he jaayega kya baat kar rahe ho… he’s my mama, we have had a few disagreements that are a separate issue but the first wedding card will go to him and he will definitely attend the wedding. (Of course, the first invitation will go to him. What are you talking about? He’s my uncle. While we may have had some disagreements, which is a separate matter, he will receive the initial wedding card),” he said as quoted by DNA India.
In recent times, Krushna has repeatedly expressed his desire to reunite with his mama. Last year, the actor tagged Govinda in one of his social media posts and wrote, “Dancing has always been my passion since my childhood when use to travel with my mama @govinda_herono1 on sets n see him dancing and acting I use to love that n today on sets doing the same thing am loving it.”
Prior to this, Krushna told Indian Express that ‘sooner or later they will be back together.’ “He is my mama and I know sooner or later we will be back together. I always believe that blood is thicker than water and it has the power to reunite us,” he had said.
