Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung are on cloud nine. As per Min-jung’s agency MSteam Entertainment, the couple welcomed their second child, a daughter, on Thursday, December 21. The duo are already proud parents to son Lee Joon-hoo, whom they brought into this world in 2015. Now, their happiness has doubled with the arrival of their newborn. Lee Byung-hun is better known for his performance in Netflix’s acclaimed thriller survival series Squid Game. Lee Min-jung is also a popular actress, starring in films like Switch, Searching for the Elephant, Wonderful Radio, and Cyrano Agency.
Sharing the good news with the masses, the source from MSteam Entertainment revealed that both Lee Min-jung and her daughter were in good health. “Lee Min Jung gave birth to a daughter this afternoon. Both the mother and daughter are in good health, and all the family members are happy,” read the statement, as cited by Soompi. The agency report added that Lee Byung-hun was present with his wife during her childbirth. Despite his hectic schedule of filming the upcoming second season of Squid Game, Lee Byung-hun did not leave his wife’s side.

Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung walked down the aisle in August 2013 in Seoul. The couple who started dating back in 2006 was in a relationship for 6 years before taking the plunge. Their son Lee Joon-hoo was born just two years later. The pair announced their second pregnancy in August as per The Korea Times with Lee Min-jung offering glimpses of her pregnancy journey in the following few weeks.
At the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards organised in Seoul on November 24, Lee Byung-hun expressed his excitement about being a father for the second time. During his acceptance speech for bagging the Best Actor award for Squid Games, Byung-hun revealed that the couple has lovingly named their pre-born daughter “Birdie”. “My second child is due next month. We have been fondly calling her Birdie as a pre-birth nickname. I wish to dedicate this honour to my wife, son, and Birdie, who will be watching from home,” he said, as cited by The Korea Times.

Speaking about Squid Game 2, apart from Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, Lee Jung-jae, and Gong Yoo will be reprising their roles. Meanwhile, Lee Min-jung was last seen in the drama series Once Again.
