JEE Main March 2021: Even though the chemistry was easiest among sections, it still had more conceptual-based questions as compared to February.

JEE Main March 2021: Most students who appeared for the JEE Main 2021 today found mathematics to be the toughest among sections followed by physics while chemistry was rated as the easiest by most of the students.

The March attempt had more reasoning-based questions in the chemistry section as compared to that of the February session, informed Ajay Kumar, national director engineering of Aakash Institutes. “However, the conceptual questions too were based on NCERTs and students should be able to solve them. It was the mathematics section which was comparatively tougher and could be the determining factor. Questions in this section needed more calculations,” he said.

Ramesh Batlish, Head-FIITJEE Noida, however, said that the exam was of higher difficulty level than that of February with mathematics being the toughest section.

This is based on the morning exam held from 9 am to noon. The afternoon session will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The second session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main began today and will continue to be held till March 18. This year, students are allowed four attempts to appear for JEE Main 2021.

“Those who have scored 95 percentile and above should try for again for Mains while simultaneously preparing for Advanced. Candidates who have scored 95 percentile or above should focus only Advance,” said Kumar.

Those who do not get desired marks in the March attempt will have the option to appear for the JEE Main again in April and May. The rank list will be declared after all four attempts are held. In the February attempt as many as six students got a 100 percentile score.

While the result of the February exam has been declared, a total of 6,19,638 candidates have applied to appear for the March attempt. Of the total registrations, as many as 1,90,748 candidates are females and 4,28,888 are males.

Those who clear the JEE Main will be eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other engineering entrance exams. Those who attain rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced – entrance test for IIT admissions.
