The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will declare the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2023 round 3 seat allotment result 2023 today, September 16. Medical aspirants who have registered for the third round of NEET PG counselling can visit the official website of MCC at mcc.nic.in and download the same. To access the result, candidates will have to log in using their registration number and password on the counselling allotment link.
Furthermore, the shortlisted aspirants will have to report for admission at the allotted medical colleges between September 18 and September 25. Candidates will be allowed to upload their documents on the MCC portal on September 17. The verification of joined candidates will be done between September 26 to 27.
This comes amid a demand for a reduction in the cut-off marks. The United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) wrote a letter to the union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and the National Medical Commission (NMC) demanding a reduction in the qualifying cut-off percentile of NEET PG 2023 so that more candidates can join the ongoing counselling process and get admission in postgraduate courses.
Resonating similar concerns, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), wrote a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urging him to reduce the percentile up to 30 per cent. Indian Medical Association stated, “As a result of high cutoff scores, medical aspirants will not only be prevented from entering postgraduation but will also be bound to travel overseas to pursue their dream field of postgraduation, further reducing the medical manpower pool in India. We cannot afford to lose these valuable gems in such a time when the country needs a full-blown medical army to protect citizens.”
Last year, the health ministry, upon the recommendation of the NMC, reduced the NEET PG qualifying percentile. Under the revised criteria, the cut-offs were set at 25 percentile for the general category, 20 percentile for Persons with Disabilities (General), and 15 percentiles for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, and Persons with Disabilities.
