World Cup 2023: Adam Zampa Reclaims Top Spot in Wicket-Taking Charts, Quinton de Kock Remains as Highest Run-Scorer
Adam Zampa reclaimed the spot at the top for the highest wicket-taking charts while Quintion de Kock continues as the highest run-scorer in the World Cup 2023 so far.

After England’s crucial win against Pakistan in the World Cup to secure their spot in the Champions Trophy 2025, there have been some changes in the top 10 charts for the highest wicket-taker and run-scorers.

In the highest wicket-taking charts in the World Cup, England’s Adil Rashid managed to find himself at the tenth position closing out his campaign with a tally of 15 wickets in the tournament. He finished the last game against Pakistan with figures of 2/55 in his quota. He has been England’s highest wicket-taker despite their dismal campaign. For Pakistan, it is Shaheen Afridi who finds himself in the third position with a tally of 18 wickets in the tournament. He closed off his campaign with figures of 2/72 in his quota of 10 overs. He has been Pakistan’s best bowler in the tournament and suffered due to the lack of support.

At the top, it is the Aussie leg-spinner, Adam Zampa with a total of 22 wickets in his nine games followed by the Sri Lankan pacer, Dilshan Madushanka who finished with 21 wickets in his nine games in the tournament. Zampa managed to pick two wickets in the final league stage fixture against Bangladesh. However, along with the leg-spinner, the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mitchell Santner all will be eyeing the top spot with all three of them competing in the semi-finals and potentially the final as well giving them the best chance of taking the top spot.

Quinton de Kock remains at the top with 591 runs in his nine games in the World Cup so far, but India’s Virat Kohli could be eyeing the top spot with the chase master also eyeing to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s longstanding record of the most ODI centuries when playing against the Netherlands in the final league stage fixture. England’s Dawid Malan managed to finish his campaign with 404 runs in the nine games, he now sits at the ninth spot in the run-scoring charts. But he will most likely be overtaken by others who will be taking part in the knockouts.

The Kiwi youngster, Rachin Ravindra has had a stellar debut World Cup campaign so far and now sits at the second spot in the run-scoring charts with 565 runs in his nine games in the tournament. He could be eyeing the top spot with him going up against India in the semi-finals.

In the final league stage fixture of the tournament, India will be taking on the Netherlands in a dead-rubber fixture taking place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
