Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav shared a heartfelt post for his idol Shane Warne on the Australia legend’s 54th birth anniversary. Widely considered the best spinner of all time, Warnie passed away at the age of 52 on March 4 2022, leaving his fans in shock.

“Remembering my friend, Shane Warne, on his special day. Your legacy lives on, both in the cricketing world and in the hearts of those who knew you. Wishing you a heavenly birthday, Warney,” wrote Kuldeep in his post that she shared on social media.

Born in 1969, Warne’s career spanned from 1992 to 2007 as the spin wizard dominated the world of cricket like few others. Before hanging up his boots, the Australian had amassed 708 wickets, a record which remained unbroken until 2007.

Known not just for his heroics with the ball, Warne also holds the record for scoring the most runs without hitting a century as he smashed 3154 runs which showed his equal prowess with the willow.

After retiring from international cricket, the former Australia captain even shone in the maiden edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), helping the underdog side of Rajasthan Royals win the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league.

Last year, the legendary figure passed away due to coronary artery atherosclerosis, when he was on a holiday in Thailand.

Kuldeep meanwhile starred for India in the past two matches, picking up nine wickets in just two outings as the Chinaman wreaked havoc against Pakistan with his fifer.
