New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party candidate Rajmohan Gandhi's road show in Delhi was stopped by the police for failing to properly display their permissions. "Everyone knows about Delhi traffic, there must have been some confusion with the car numbers," Gandhi said. "We are not complaining," he added.

The road show was allowed to proceed after the permissions were displayed on vehicles. "The extra vehicle was also removed from the convoy and the road show was allowed to proceed," said a official.

The election campaign manager of Gandhi, Praveen Deshmukh claimed that the convoy was stopped thrice due to the "fault of the Election Commission."

"First time it was stopped at Shakarpur due to confusion over the number of vehicles for which the permission was granted. "Second time it was stopped in Gandhi Nagar by police following confusion over the route of the rally. We went to the ACP office where one-and-a-half hours was wasted as the SDM concerned did not have the route details which we already had submitted before. We were stopped for the third time in Vishwas Nagar over the same issue," Deshmukh claimed.

As per the itinerary, the road show was planned from Laxmi Nagar to Shahdara but it had to culminate at Vishwas Nagar.

Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Rajmohan Gandhi will contest the Lok Sabha elections from East Delhi against Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit.
