AP govt should takeover Sathya Sai Trust: CPI
The CPI alleged that attempts are being made to dilute the case in which few people were seizure with Rs 35 lakhs.

Hyderabad: CPI on Wednesday demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government take over the Satya Sai Trust in Puttaparthy in view of the series of allegations surfacing against it.

"The Trust members refused to allow media and government officials to be present when the wealth in 'Yajurveda Mandir' the personal chambers of Sri Satya Sai Baba was being counted. This shows how transparent the trust is," the CPI alleged in a memorandum submitted to state Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy.

Referring to the seizure of Rs 35 lakhs by police during vehicle checks and arrest of few persons in Anantapur district, the CPI cited media reports that those connected to the Trust are trying to get the arrested persons released.

"It is said that attempts are being made to dilute the case," the party said.

The CPI demanded that the state government take over the Satya Sai Trust, punish the guilty for alleged wrong-doings and conduct the probe in an impartial manner so that the assets of the Trust are protected and the sentiments of devotees are respected.
