Mumbai: Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan's wife Ameeta filed her nomination papers from Nanded Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday.

The Congress has not declared its candidate from Nanded yet.

She can file her B form once the Congress declares her as the official candidate of the party.

There was an intense speculation over her candidature. Ashok Chavan had to quit as Maharashtra chief minister after his name figured in the Adarsh Housing Society scam in 2010.

Earlier he wanted to contest from Nanded as the Congress candidate.
