Buddha slams Mamata on Metro stations' naming
She has named a Metro station after late Tollywood icon Uttam Kumar.

Kolkata: Taking a dig at Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattarcharjee has criticised her for naming Kolkata Metro railway stations after famous personalities.

“Is this a tamasha (farce) that portraits of great personalities like Kabi Nazrul Islam, Netaji and Mastarda Surya Sen were displayed at railway programme?” Bhattacharjee asked.

Buddha said that the Left is against the “abuse of the great heritage of freedom movement” and this act has shown a lot of disrespect towards legendary personalities.

He also raised a question on the frequent launches of trains.

“What is happening? Launching of new trains everyday and see the state of affairs in the Railways,” said Buddha.

Banerjee on Saturday inaugurated a 5.8 km metro rail stretch from Tollygunge to Garia Bazar in the southern outskirts of the metropolis.
