CBI takes Jagan Reddy for interrogation
The question, however, remains whether the Kadapa MP will provide answers to all the queries of the CBI.

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday took YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for interrogation in the disproportionate assets case after the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted a 5-day custody of him to the agency on Saturday.

The questions, however, are many and the answers none so far. Will Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy provide answers to all the queries of the CBI?

As Jagan and CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana come face-to-face, the CBI is ready with its questions for which they will seek answers from the MP.

Sources say that the CBI will, most likely, ask the same questions it had asked Jagan during the three-day questioning that ended in his arrest.

The questions will mostly revolve around the investments made in Jagathi Publications Private Limited (JPPL), chanelling of more than Rs 100 crore of ill-gotten money through suitcase companies based in Kolkata and Mumbai, investments made by the Hetero group, Aurobindo Pharma, Penna group, Dalmia Cements, India Cements and the Ramky group, and the Vanpic deal.

Investigation by the agency so far has revealed that Jagan, in conspiracy with his confidant and JPPL financial director V Vijay Sai Reddy, mobilised funds from various companies and, through their representatives, allegedly made investments in JPPL at a very high premium of Rs 350 per share. Investigation also revealed that the channelling of money through suitcase companies was made by Vijay Sai Reddy at the behest of Jagan.

The CBI will also seek answers on the two Mauritius-based companies _ 2i Capital and Pluri Emerging company. Investigation revealed that during 2005 the company offered 1,75,49,307 equity shares at the rate of ` 10 to these two companies at Rs 61 per share and received Rs 124.60 crore from them.

An amount of Rs 90 crore out of the Rs 124.60 crore was used to repay all its bank loans.

Investigation so far has revealed that the funds utilised for Sandur Power Company, Bangalore, came from the shares held by Asia Infrastructure SICAR in 2i Capital and Emerging Star Fund were transferred through a Luxembourg account from Whitehall Associates. Questions will also be asked to him about Sandur Power Company, Carmel Asia Holding, Silicon Infrastructure, Saraswati Power Industries among others.

Various GOs issued during the tenure of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, will also form part of the questioning which is likely to be intense.

However, sources close to Jagan Mohan Reddy said that their leader may repeat what he has already told the agency before. The man who has "trained" Jagan in "handling" the CBI and its queries is said to be Vijay Sai Reddy, who was questioned about 35 times during which he reportedly did not reveal anything significant to the agency.
