New Delhi: Congress on Saturday released its fourth list of candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
There are a total number of 300 candidates posed by the Congress, which declared on Friday that it was going it alone in the crucial UP polls, uptil now.
Senior leaders from the state like Surender Kumar Munni, Rambriksh Trivedi, Sanjiv Mishra and Yogendramani Tripathi have found a place in the latest list of 66 candidates.
The Assembly has a total of 403 seats and the party is yet to announce candidates for several seats.
Rambriksh Trivedi will contest from Haidergarh, the seat once contested by BJP president Rajnath Singh and Munni has been fielded from Ghaziabad.
Mishra and Tripathi have been nominated from Farrukhabad and Bahraich respectively, news agency PTI quoted Congress Working Committee member Oscar Fernandes’ statement.
He added that Saturday’s list contains the name of candidates for second, third, fourth and fifth phase, he said.
Polling would be held in 62 assembly constituencies in 13 districts in the state on April 7 in the first phase while other phases are scheduled on April 13, 18, 23, 28, May 3 and May 8.
