New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday wrote a letter to anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, saying that the focus of the government was not just on Lokpal.
The Prime Minister asserted that the government was also focused on issues of electoral and land reforms.
However, he said that the commitment of the government remained to Lokpal, adding that they would soon be successful in it.
The Prime Minister pointed in the letter that the government was working on a broader agenda to eradicate corruption and improve the system, and that Lokpal Bill was a part of the same.
The letter is in response to one written by Hazare in September.
Reacting to the letter, Hazare reiterated that if the bill was not introduced in the winter session, he would resume his protest.
"If Prime Minister does not bring Lokpal Bill in winter session, then I will go back to Jantar Mantar to protest," he said.
