New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann gave a bizarre defence on Friday over the video he shot while entering Parliament complex saying it does not show anything new.
"Even Google Earth shows the way to reach Parliament on its website". Climbing down on his stand, Mann did not live stream the video while entering Parliament on Friday.
He also said his only intention was to tell the procedure of what happens during the zero hour. "I've done nothing to risk the security of Parliament. During zero hour, discussion topics are decided through lucky draw which is unfair. I only wanted to educate and inform people about that," Mann said.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan met Mann and expressed her displeasure over the video he shot and posted on social media.
"I am taking the matter seriously. Action will be taken against Bhagwant Mann," the Lok Sabha Speaker said after a 20-minute meeting with him.
Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after continued pandemonium over Mann issue of Mann's videography of Parliament House complex, terming it as a security breach.
"The incident must be investigated properly, the intentions behind shooting the video must be known. Who will b responsible if that video is used by terrorist organisations for attacks? Can we take this so leniently," Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said.
Union Minister Mukhtar Abbar Naqvi also said it's a matter concerning security of Parliament and action needs to be taken. "It's against Parliamentary rules and regulations to video graph sensitive areas of the Parliament. He'll go to jail if he doest it again. At time when terrorists are looking for opportunities to attack, giving out such sensitive info is disastrous," he added.
In the nearly 12 minute video, Mann gives a running commentary as his vehicle crosses security barricades and enters Parliament. "I'll today show you something you would not have seen earlier," he says.
Mann then enters a room where questions to be taken up inside Parliament are being sorted and describes the process.
