New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he won't let him live in peace until crime against women stops. The remarks came in the wake of rape of two minors this week.
In a strong-worded message to Modi, Kejriwal said, "The Prime Minister should know one think that I am not like Sheila Dikshit who use to say that she is helpless that Delhi Police is not in her control. I will not sit quiet. I will not let the Prime Minister live in peace if such incidents continue."
Two children, including a two-and-half-year-old, were brutally raped in the capital, a week after the grisly sexual assault on a minor.
In the first case, the two-and-a-half-year-old girl was kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne men from a Ramlila event in west Delhi's Nihal Vihar locality on Friday night. She was later found in a park bleeding profusely and crying.
In the second incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a co-tenant and two of his associates at a slum cluster in east Delhi's Anand Vihar area last evening. The girl's parents are labourers and she was alone at home when the accused lured her to their accommodation just above the victim's house.
Both the girls suffered severe injuries and are recovering in separate hospitals. These two rapes came a week after brutal rape of a four year-old girl in north west Delhi's Keshavpuram area.
