LoC killings: Sushma takes a strident stand, Jaitley, Modi quiet

New Delhi: The entire country is outraged over the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops on the LoC. The ceasefire violations along with the killing and mutilation of Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops have turned into a political war of words in India with the BJP being very vocal and demanding tough action against Pakistan.

But on other hand former Punjab Police chief, KPS Gill, who's also the patron and chief advisor of the Indian Hockey Federation has targeted senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley's silence on Pakistani players participating in the Hockey India League. Even Gujarat Chief Minister's invitation to Pakistani business delegation in the midst of ceasefire violations is being questioned.

Gill said that while Jaitley's party wants tough action against Pakistan, the BJP leader was silent on Pakistani players. He also pointed out the Jaitley, who is in the board of directors of Hockey India League, had demanded that Indian recall it High Commissioner to Pakistan but was not speaking on the sporting ties between the two countries.

Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has not only targeted Pakistan but also trained her guns of the government for not talking hardline stand. Swaraj while meeting Lance Naik Hemraj's family in Sher Nagar in Mathura on Monday had said that India must take revenge and bring back 10 heads of Pakistani soldiers.

Even Narendra Modi, often seen as the most strident face of the BJP on its Pakistan policy, actions have been baffling. On January 9 and 10 a 22-member delegation of the Karachi Chambers of Commerce attended the Vibrant Gujarat Summit organised by Modi.

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit started just a day after two Indian soldiers were killed and the body of one of them was mutilated by Pakistani soldiers near the Line of Control.

While BJP's ally in Maharashtra the Shiv Sena has been very vocal in attacking Pakistani, BJP MP and former cricketer and Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken a different stand. Shiv Sena has demanded that India break off all sporting and cultural ties with Pakistan but Sidhu said that a player should be respected, irrespective of the country to which he or she belongs to.
