Bhopal: 6:30 pm: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh's son Jaiwardhan Singh was declared elected from the Raghogarh constituency in Guna district. Jaiwardhan won his debut election by a margin of 58,204 votes, trouncing the rival BJP candidate Radhe Shyam Dhakad. Jaiwardhan was polled 98,041 votes whereas Dhakad could secure 58,564 votes.
6:15 pm: Pratibha Singh (Congress) has won from Bargi constituency by 7399 votes. Ramesh Patel (BJP) has won from Barwani (S.T.) constituency by 10527 votes.
5:55 pm: Kamlesh Shah (Congress) has won from Amarwara constituency by 28859 votes. Mukesh Pandya (BJP) has won from Badnagar constituency by 13135 votes.
5:40 pm: Manohar Oontwal (BJP) has won from Agar constituency by 28859 votes. Jitendra Thavarchand Gehlot (BJP) has won from Alote constituency by 7973 votes.
5:30 pm: Minister of State for School Education and BJP nominee Nanabhai Mohod won from Saunsar by defeating Bhagvat Mahajan of Congress by 8,416 votes.
5:20 pm: BJP nominee Rajesh Sonkar won from Sanwer constituency in Indore district by defeating Tulsiram Silawat of Congress by
17,583 votes. Sonkar polled 87,292 votes as against 69,709 secured by his nearest rival. BJP has thus wrested the seat, represented by Silawat in the outgoing Assembly, from the main Opposition party.
5:10 pm: BJP President Rajnath Singh applauded Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his work and teh success in the polls. "He has done a commendable work. He will remain the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh," Singh said.

2:30 pm: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has embarked a massive win by 16966 votes from the Vidisha seat in the state. Chouhan got 73,783 votes against Shashank Bhargava from the Congress who secured 56,817 votes.
2:20 pm Congress leader Manoj Kumar Agrawal has won against BJP's Rajesh Soni by 1546 seats. Congress has won another seat in Pusprajgarh too where Phundelal Singh Marko defeated Sudama Singh Singram of the BJP by 35647 votes.
2:10 pm: Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed his disappointment over the poll results. "Very disappointed. There is a need of introspection in the party," he said.
2:09 pm: BJP leader Dr Sita Sharan Sharma has won by 49296 in Hoshangabad.
2:05 pm: BJP candidate from Anuppur Ramlal Rautel has won against Bisahulal Singh of the Congress by 11745 votes.
1:55 pm: Shivraj Singh Chouhan thanked his party members and senior leaders for their support as trends emerging from counting of votes showed BJP retaining power in the State comfortably. "The people of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP organisation and a large number of party leaders who guided us in the poll campaign deserved thanks for this victory."
Chouhan specially thanked senior party leaders LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, Narendra Modi, Uma Bharti and State BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar.
The 54-year-old said it was only in the BJP that an ordinary worker could rise through the ranks and become a Chief Minister. He said he had tried his best to serve the people after becoming Chief Minister in 2005 and would continue the development and welfare schemes started by his Government.
The Chief Minister claimed the Congress-led ruling coalition at the Centre had been discriminating against his Government and it was the need of the hour to have a BJP-headed administration in New Delhi.
Chouhan expressed confidence that during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Madhya Pradesh would provide the largest chunk of BJP MPs so that his party is able to form Government at the Centre.
1:50 pm: BJP General Secretary and in-charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs Anant Kumar lauded Chouhan for the remarkable victory. "MP has given a model of good governance to the country. This is a historic victory," he said. Kumar also expressed confidence that the BJP will form a government "under the leadership of Modi at the Centre in 2014."
1:39 pm BJP leader Ranveer Singh has won from Sohagpur constituency by 28891 votes defeating VijayPal Singh of the Congress.
1:35 pm: Gaur, a former chief minister, contesting from Govindpura for a record 10th time, is leading by 11782 votes over Govind Goyal of Congress, while Kailash Vijawargiya is ahead at Mhow against Antar Singh Darbar of Congress by 2889 votes.
1:32 pm: Ministers Narottam Mishra is leading from Datia, Tukoji Rao Pawar from Dewas, Archana Chitnis from Burhanpur, and Gopal Bhargava from Rehli. Their colleagues Laxmikant Sharma and Anoop Mishra, a newphew of BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee, are, however, trailing their Congress rivals at Sironj and Bhitarwar respectively.
1:30 pm: Former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri of the Congress is trailing his BJP opponent and sitting MLA Surendra Patwa by 10,000 votes at Bhojpur. However, the Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Ajay Singh is leading by a margin of 6120 votes from his traditional Churhat constituency.

Chouhan, a sitting MLA from Budhni had represented Vidisha five times in the Lok Sabha. The seat is now held by Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj.

It is the day when the fate of the 230-member Assembly election will be out. Riding high on a pro-incumbency mood, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is likely to score another big victory for the third straight term.
Madhya Pradesh witnessed a record voter turnout of 70 per cent when the state voted on November 25 in 51 districts of the state. More than for 4 crore 65 lakh voters were given the right to exercise their franchise to nominate a total of 2,583 in the 230-member Assembly.
Chouhan is contesting from two constituencies - Budhni and Vidisha.
The other prominent candidates from the BJP are state Urban Development Minister and former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur (Govindpura in Bhopal), Forest Minister Sartaj Singh (Seoni-Malwa in Hoshangabad district) and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra (Datia proper in Datia district).
State Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta is fighting from Bhopal South-West while Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Gopal Bhargava from Rehli and BJP MP Yashodhara Raje Scindia from Shivpuri.
The Congress' candidates are led by Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh, who is contesting again from the Churhat constituency in the Sidhi district. Another prominent Congress candidate this time is Jaiwardhan Singh, the son of party General Secretary and former chief minister Digvijaya Singh. Jaiwardhan is in the race from Raghogarh constituency in Guna district.
The Congress has been out of power in the state since it lost elections in December 2003.
