Modi likely to drop non-performing ministers after Bihar poll debacle: Sources
Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance on Sunday trounced BJP-led NDA in Bihar polls by winning 158 seats in 243-member Assembly.

After severe mauling in Bihar Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to drop the non-performing ministers from his cabinet, sources said. The reshuffle is likely to take place after his foreign tour.

The Prime Minister could use Bihar poll debacle as an excuse for the reshuffle. According to the sources, Modi has been planning a reshuffle from quite some time.

Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance on Sunday trounced BJP-led NDA in Bihar polls by winning 158 seats in 243-member Assembly. Stunned by the defeat, BJP leaders said the party will take corrective measures.

The BJP could barely manage to win 53 seats and its allies just five seats taking the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) toll to 58.

BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said, "We try to learn from every election. Give us some time. We will take corrective measures," he said.

He said what led to the NDA's loss will have to be analysed after they received all figures, adding that not one factor leads to victory or loss in elections.
