Sonia Gandhi admitted to hospital for respiratory tract infection
"She has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here for further treatment of the infection," AICC general secretary Ajay Maken said.

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi was on Thursday admitted to a hospital for treatment of lower respiratory tract infection.

"She has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here for further treatment of the infection," AICC general secretary Ajay Maken said.

Sonia had undergone surgery in the at a US hospital in August, 2011 for an undisclosed illness. She had stayed there for over a month. Gandhi returned to India after treatment in US for over a month.

Later, in October last, she fell sick in the Parliament and had to be admitted to a hospital after she complained of breathlessness. Her son and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had accompanied her to the hospital.
